Many of our clients ask, “what is an advanced rider?” and the answer is simple – advanced riders have taken additional courses to enhance and develop their skills. Phoenix Motorcycle Training are working in partnership with the Met Police Bikesafe team and Transport for London to develop your riding skills to the next level and working on the advice given by the Bikesafe officers on your course.
Enhanced Rider Scheme
Enhanced Rider Scheme assessments can only be carried out by registered DVSA instructors.
This is the first step toward gaining an ‘Advanced Rider Award’ and involves an assessment of your skills. Unlike most advanced motorcycle training, there is no test and if the initial assessment is passed, you will be awarded a certificate without the need for further training. If necessary, support and training to improve your riding skills will be given based on the findings of the assessment, after which you’ll be reassessed.
You can take the enhanced rider scheme if you’re a fully licensed motorcyclist and have passed your test. The scheme is suitable if you:

Once you have been awarded your Enhanced Rider Scheme certificate, you may qualify for a reduced insurance premium with some insurance companies.
