Trail Riding Weekends
Two days on the green lanes. One night in a B&B. The Yorkshire Dales, the Pennines and Wales..
You’ve done the training days.
Now take it on the road.
More than a day out
A single trail day shows you what you can do. A trail weekend shows you what trail riding is really about: long miles of byways, changing ground and weather, and the satisfaction of covering real distance across some of the UK’s wildest country.
In 2027 Phoenix Trails is launching two-day trail riding trips into the Yorkshire Dales, the Pennines and Wales. You’ll ride with a qualified Phoenix instructor and a small group of like-minded riders. You’ll stop overnight in a hand-picked B&B, then head back out for a second full day on the lanes.
It’s still Phoenix, so it’s still training. Your instructor will keep coaching you on technique, route reading and lane etiquette as you go. By the end of the weekend you’ll have the confidence and know-how to plan multi-day trips of your own.

Who it’s for?
Built for experienced trail riders
Trail Weekends are for riders who already have off-road miles under their belt. Two back-to-back days on the lanes are demanding, and fitness and stamina matter as much as technical skill.
You should:
* Hold a full motorcycle licence
* Have completed a Phoenix Level 2 or Level 3 trail day
* Be comfortable riding ruts, steps, rocky climbs and descents, and water crossings
* Be fit enough for two long days in the saddle, including picking up your own bike
Not sure you’re ready? Be honest with yourself: off-road skills are very different from road or track riding. If in doubt, book a Level 2 or Level 3 day first, or call us and we’ll help you decide. It keeps the weekend great for everyone in the group.
Destinations
Three regions, three very different weekends
Yorkshire Dales
Old drove roads and stony tracks between dry-stone walls, limestonescars and remote dales. Steep valley climbs, loose rock and big views from the tops, with atraditional Dales B&B at the end of day one.
The Pennines
High, open moorland where the weather can change by the hour. Longrocky ascents, peat, ruts and fords give a true test of stamina and line choice acrossEngland’s backbone.
Wales
Mountain byways, forest tracks and ancient lanes through some of the mostremote riding country in Britain. Expect water, rock and gradient in equal measure, andscenery that makes every stop worth it.
Every route is planned by our instructors using legal byways (BOATs and unsealed roads). We check for traffic regulation orders and seasonal closures before each trip, and adjustthe route for the group and the conditions on the day.
Your weekend
How the two days run

Day 2 – Back out:
