What can I expect from a Phoenix Motorcycle Training Day?

Unlike some motorcycle schools, all motorcycle courses provided by Phoenix Motorcycle Training include everything you need for an enjoyable day with us. That means your course costs covers all of the following:

  • Motorbike hire
  • Helmet
  • Jacket
  • Hi-visibility vest
  • Waterproof clothing if needed
  • Insurance
  • Fuel
  • All of the necessary materials and certificates to verify you have successfully completed your training and have achieved a competent skill level

In certain cases, students may wish to train on their own motorcycles. It is sometimes possible to arrange this if you contact the school which you intend to complete your training with.

What do I need to bring?

Students for all our courses only need to bring their provisional licence (if a first-time road user and completing a CBT course) or motorcycle licence (if moving up a licence level with full-licence training), a packed lunch and wear sturdy shoes or boots (trainers are not acceptable) for the day or duration of the chosen course.

What happens on a motorcycle training day?

Each of our courses is slightly different because we tailor them to the skills and aims of students. Even so, a similar format is followed for most courses at all Phoenix schools.

Training days usually begin in the classroom. Here, we’ll cover what to expect over the rest of the day, run through the necessary safety information and make sure all of your paperwork is in order. After covering the essentials, we’ll begin with your practical and theoretical training!

All students have plenty of opportunities for asking questions, practising, manoeuvers, skills and techniques that are part of the course.

After a full morning of training, we’ll break for lunch. Free tea and coffee and bathroom facilities are available at all Phoenix Motorcycle schools.

After lunch, we may return for more practising of your motorcycling skills. Training days last anywhere between a half day (3 – 4 hours) to a full day (6 – 7 hours), it depends on the type of course you book.

Get in touch if you have specific questions about what to expect or if you’d like to learn more about the different courses we offer students and experienced motorcyclists.
