The beginning of the end for SMIDSY?

Phoenix Motorcycle Training was featured by Motorcycle News (MCN) for its pioneering research into reducing “SMIDSY” incidents, where drivers fail to notice an approaching motorcycle despite looking in its direction. Working with Nottingham Trent University, Phoenix helped develop a driver awareness programme that explores how perception, rather than eyesight alone, contributes to many motorcycle collisions.

The research highlighted how targeted training can improve drivers’ ability to recognise motorcycles and other vulnerable road users, helping to make roads safer for everyone.
